To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how much money has been paid out for Support for Mortgage Interest loans in each of the last 2 years.

The amount of SMI payments made in the financial year 2021/22 is £25 million and financial year 2022/23 is £22 million. This is rounded to the nearest million and is in relation to households in payment in Great Britain.
