For those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, we are investing over £1 billion in the Homelessness Prevention Grant over three years, including a £109 million top-up to the Homelessness Prevention Grant this year. Local authorities can use the funding flexibly to meet their homelessness and rough sleeping strategies - for example, to offer financial support for people to find a new home, to work with landlords to prevent evictions or to provide temporary accommodation.
This is part of the wider £2 billion we are spending to tackle homelessness and end rough sleeping over three years, and comes alongside our work to support new arrivals from Ukraine and Afghanistan, as well as those reliant on temporary accommodation, through the Local Authority Housing Fund.
