Undocumented Migrants: English Channel

Question for Home Office

UIN 160310, tabled on 7 March 2023

These crossings remain dangerous, illegal and unnecessary. The Government is determined to stop them, and that is the aim of the new Illegal Migration Bill.

While it would be inappropriate to detail the work being done against those criminal elements, our joint work with France has seen at least 59 Organised Crime Groups connected to these crossings dismantled, and over 500 arrests made, since the foundation of the Joint Intelligence Cell in July 2020.
