Question for Department of Health and Social Care

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether the Major Conditions Strategy will incorporate the commitments made in the 10-year mental health plan.

We received over 5,000 submissions to our mental health and wellbeing call for evidence, launched last year to ask the public a range of questions to help develop future plans for mental health and wellbeing in England. We have analysed these responses, and we will consider them as part of the process for developing the Major Conditions Strategy, which will set out a strong and coherent policy agenda that sets out a shift to integrated, whole-person care.

A joined up Major Conditions Strategy will ensure that mental ill-health is considered alongside other physical health conditions, meaning the interactions between them are reflected in any resulting commitments.

Named day questions only occur in the House of Commons. The MP tabling the question specifies the date on which they should receive an answer. MPs may not table more than five named day questions on a single day.
