NHS Digital publishes Hospital and Community Health Services workforce statistics for England. These include staff working in hospital trusts and integrated care systems but excludes staff working for other providers such as in primary care, general practice or social care. The following table shows the number of maternity support staff, headcount, in National Health Service hospitals and commissioning bodies in England, as of August 2022 by age group.
Under 25 years old | 25 to 34 years old | 35 to 44 years old | 45 to 54 years old | 55 to 64 years old | 65 years old and over |
587 | 2,141 | 2,349 | 2,177 | 2,001 | 292 |
