To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, pursuant to the Answer of 7 November 2022 to Question 77243 on Bulb Energy: Insolvency, if he will make an assessment of the potential impact on customer bills of use of the shortfall recovery mechanism in relation to this case.

The Government is committed to maximising value for money for taxpayers and has the option to recover costs through the shortfall recovery mechanism which would see a levy charged on industry. The decision of how this process will be carried out lies with the Secretary of State.
