Question for Home Office

UIN HL1710, tabled on 12 July 2022

To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Home Office on 8 February 2021 (HC 144733), how it was possible for an individual to take the Life in the UK test 118 times in 2015 and 2016 when government guidance says that applicants must wait 7 days before taking the test again.

Life in the UK testing is provided and hosted by PSI Services (UK) Limited who operate a self-booking process and candidates are able to book tests in multiple slots; they are not limited by the system as to how frequently a test can be taken.

We are aware the guidance on gov.uk advises candidates:

You must wait 7 days before taking the test again, but you can take the test as many times as you need to.

However, this is guidance and not a requirement so we will update the wording to reflect this.
