In Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales the responsibility for maintaining the highway rests with the respective devolved administration. However, structural maintenance works to local roads is a relevant intervention under the transport investment theme for the Levelling Up Fund.
Round two of the £4.8 billion Levelling Up Fund launched 23 March 2022 and applications from all parts of the UK, including Northern Ireland are welcome. HM Government have published an updated prospectus that sets out guidance on how to apply.
