The information requested on patient list size is not held centrally.

As self-employed contractors, it is for general practitioner (GP) practices to determine the appropriate workforce, including the number and range of health professionals necessary to respond to the needs of their patients. There is no recommendation for how many patients should be assigned to a GP. This can be affected by various factors, including rurality and patient demographics. No further analysis is currently being undertaken.
