The government takes the UK’s net zero target seriously. This is why we introduced an amendment to the Skills and Post-16 Education Bill, ensuring that skills required for jobs that support compliance with the UK net zero emissions target are considered in the development of Local Skills Improvement Plans. The Department for Education and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy will continue to work closely together to ensure we have the right skills to meet the requirements of a net zero transition.
