The data requested is not held centrally in the format requested, for either suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnoses. Since November 2019, NHS Digital has published experimental statistics on autism diagnosis waiting times from the Mental Health Services Data Set. The current data is based on reporting of diagnoses by mental health organisations who submit data, including some mental health trusts. Community services (where children are typically diagnosed) are not reported in this dataset. With respect to ADHD there is not a single, established dataset that can be used to monitor referrals or waiting times for ADHD diagnosis nationally. NHS Digital are working to improve the quality of relevant datasets such as the Mental Health Minimum Dataset and the Community Services dataset.
