The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) collects and publishes data on students enrolled in higher education.
Counts of student enrolments at UK Higher Education Providers (HEPs) are available by level of study and region of domicile for the academic years 2014/15 to 2019/20 in Table 28 of HESA’s Higher Education Student Open Data pages: https://www.hesa.ac.uk/data-and-analysis/students/table-28.
In academic year 2019/20, there were 33,290 undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled at UK HEPs who were domiciled in Africa prior to study.
HESA will update their open data to the academic year 2020/21 on 10 February 2022. Statistics relating to the academic year 2021/22 are expected to be available in February 2023.
