No specific assessment has been made. However, certification helped to reduce risks in compared with no intervention, as part of a range of measure aimed at reducing pressures on the National Health Service.

On 19 January 2022, the Government announced the end of mandatory certification requirements to access certain settings. Since 27 January, venues are no longer legally required to check the NHS COVID Pass as a condition of entry. The domestic NHS COVID Pass will remain available in the NHS App.
