To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities on improving community services specialising in eating disorders in children.
10 January 2022
We have had no specific discussions.
Since 2016, we have provided additional funding for children and young people's community eating disorder services every year, with £53 million annually from 2021/22. This will enhance the development of more than 70 new or improved community eating disorder teams. We have announced an additional £79 million in 2021/22 to expand children’s mental health services to allow a further 2,000 children and young people to access eating disorder services. NHS England and NHS Improvement have announced a further £40 million in 2021/22 to address the impact of the pandemic on children and young people’s mental health, including eating disorders.
