We have regular discussions with Cabinet colleagues on improving the health and wellbeing of the nation including tackling disparities that contribute to obesity.
On 1 October 2021, we launched the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). The OHID will work in partnership with national and local government, the National Health Service, the voluntary sector, industry and the wider public health system to systematically tackle the top preventable health challenges, such as obesity and smoking, improving the public’s overall health and tackling health disparities.
