NHS England and NHS Improvement are working with National Health Service providers to ensure appropriate operational plans are in place for winter, including meeting potential increases in the demand for emergency care driven by seasonal flu and COVID-19.

We have launched the largest ever seasonal flu vaccination programme and COVID-19 booster vaccines for priority groups and provided an additional £1 billion this year to address backlogs in elective care.
