The Government will invest in supported housing, as well as exploring other innovative housing solutions to support more people to live independently at home for longer, with personalised care and support.

The Department of Health and Social Care works closely with the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government and the Department for Work and Pensions to increase both the supply and quality of supported housing. We are engaging with both the sector and a range of other stakeholders including considering the merits of different engagement and delivery models including proposals for a cross-Government taskforce. Additionally, since the beginning of the pandemic, the Government has invested over £34 million to organisations supporting people who experience loneliness.
