To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, pursuant to the Answer of 18 May 2021 to Question 3110, what further discussions the Government has had with the US administration on its decision to withdraw its armed forces from Afghanistan.

The Foreign Secretary has spoken with Secretary of State Blinken on nine further occasions on Afghanistan since the previous Question in May, and they have spoken at numerous multilateral meetings during this time

Most recently on the 30th of August the Foreign Secretary joined a meeting with counterparts from the US, Canada, the EU, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, NATO, Qatar and Turkey about the situation in Afghanistan.
