The Government has made £17 million available to address dementia waiting lists and increase the number of diagnoses. NHS England and NHS Improvement are using this funding to aid recovery of referrals to memory assessment services, diagnosis of dementia and support access to post-diagnostic support. The funding can also be used to address the needs of those waiting for diagnosis and those who have a diagnosis but are unable to access support services due to the pandemic.
