To ask Her Majesty's Government whether a local planning authority can be required to disclose the details of any legal opinions it has received regarding a planning application to those who may be affected by the planning application; and if so, how the requirement for disclosure can be imposed.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 provide public access to information held by public authorities, subject to any exemptions which may apply. Exemptions include legal professional privilege which is subject to a public interest test.
