To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent discussions he has had with the British Transport Police on the deployment of officers on the rail network in (a) England and (b) Tier 4 covid alert level areas whilst covid-19 travel restrictions are in place.

Department for Transport ministers and officials have held regular discussions with the British Transport Police regarding its work to support COVID-19 regulations and Government guidance. This includes discussions regarding BTP’s planning for officer deployments to support passenger safety across the GB rail network in line with the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
