Autism and Disability: Coronavirus

Question for Department of Health and Social Care

UIN HL6394, tabled on 2 July 2020

To ask Her Majesty's Government what plans they have to enable young adults who are (1) autistic, or (2) disabled, and who are living in care homes and who do not have any specific risk factors for COVID-19 to be able to visit family at home; and if they have any such plans, what is the timetable to enable such visits. We are aware that limiting visits out of care homes is difficult for many families and residents. The Government recognises that this is a particularly challenging time for many disabled people and we are absolutely committed to ensuring they receive the support they need.

Guidance on visits out of care homes is in development and will be published shortly.
