To ask Her Majesty's Government what plans they have, if any, to review the legal framework governing the ownership of personal health data.

The Government is committed to the safe, secure and lawful sharing of health data for individual care, to support research to improve treatments and diagnosis and to improve planning and commissioning of health and care across the National Health Service. We are aware of current concerns regarding the complexity of the overlapping laws, codes and guidance relating to data that can be confusing and difficult to navigate and NHSX is committed to working with other organisations to simplify this.
