Question for Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

UIN 10377, tabled on 30 January 2020

To ask the Minister of State, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, whether he has made an assessment of the accuracy of Openreach’s current map of fibre connections in estimating the potential for full-fibre roll-out.

The Government uses a range of data sources in considering the potential for full fibre and gigabit broadband deployment. We have not made a specific assessment of the accuracy of Openreach's current map of fibre connections. However, we draw on data published by Openreach and other providers, as well as data Ofcom collects on overall network coverage, in estimating future roll-out.
