We remain deeply concerned about continuing intercommunal violence across many states in Nigeria. The root causes of the violence are complex and vary across different regions. Tension between farming and herding communities, exacerbated by population growth and climate change has disrupted traditional grazing routes of nomadic herders leading to conflict with farming communities. We are seeking specific information about the attacks in Nassarawa, Benue, Kaduna and Gombe States, working closely with the Nigerian authorities.
