To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they intend to remain closely aligned with EU car safety standards in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

The majority of safety standards applied by the EU for new road vehicles are those agreed under the international Agreements of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). As a contracting party to the UNECE agreement, the UK will continue to accept these same regulations in the event of a no deal and shall continue to take a leading role in their development to ensure the highest levels of safety continue to apply.
