UIN HL14851, tabled on 27 March 2019

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether a person who has been referred to the National Referral Mechanism as a potential victim of trafficking or modern slavery can be removed from the UK while awaiting (1) a reasonable grounds decision, and (2) a conclusive grounds decision.

Answered on

A person who has been referred to the National Referral Mechanism as a potential victim of trafficking or modern slavery cannot be removed while consideration is being given to whether there are reasonable grounds to believe they are a victim.

If the reasonable grounds decision is positive, they cannot be removed during the period that further consideration is being given to whether there are conclusive grounds to believe they are a victim.
