To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the findings of Dame Judith Hackitt’s May 2018 Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, what steps his Department is taking to tackle shortages in fire engineering expertise.

Fire and rescue authorities have the resources they need to undertake their important work.

It is the responsibility of fire and rescue services to ensure that they organise their resources effectively to deliver their core functions across prevention, protection and response.
