Sudan: British Nationals Abroad

Question for Foreign and Commonwealth Office

UIN HL13724, tabled on 14 February 2019

To ask Her Majesty's Government what action they have taken to secure the release of UK passport holders jailed by the government of Sudan after taking part in protests in that country.

We have requested confirmation of, and consular access to, individuals who we believe have been arrested in relation to the recent protests. The assistance we can provide to dual nationals in Sudan is limited as they are in the country of their nationality and local authorities are not obliged to inform us of their arrest.
