To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, whether his Department instructed the Home Office not to offer asylum to Asia Bibi due to concerns for the safety of British consular staff in Pakistan.

The UK Government’s primary concern is for the safety and well-being of Asia Bibi and her family. We want to see a swift, positive resolution to the case.
It is the long standing position of the Government not to comment on individual immigration issues.
