Asia Bibi’s acquittal will be very welcome news to her family and those who have campaigned in Pakistan and around the world for her release. We are closely monitoring the situation and developments. The UK’s position on the death penalty in all circumstances and in all countries is well-known, we call for its abolition globally.

Named day
Named day questions only occur in the House of Commons. The MP tabling the question specifies the date on which they should receive an answer. MPs may not table more than five named day questions on a single day.
