To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what recent discussions he has had with Cabinet colleagues on introducing legislation to ban the use of wild animals in circuses.

The Government remains committed to banning the use of wild animals in circuses and intends to ensure the necessary legislation is introduced by January 2020, when the current licensing regulations protecting the welfare of wild animals in circuses expire.
