To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, with reference to the discussion paper, Criminal Liability: Insanity and Automatism, published by the Law Commission in July 2013, whether the Government has plans to reform the legislation on the defence of insanity.

The Ministry of Justice has no current plans to reform the law of the defence of insanity.
