To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will seek parliamentary approval prior to any decision to bring Trident missiles back to Quick Reaction Alert status or to re-target those missiles; and if he will make a statement.

As stated in the 2015 Strategic Defence Security Review "Our submarines on patrol are at several days notice to fire and, since 1994, we do not target our missiles at any state." For reasons of safeguarding national security the posture of the UK independent nuclear weapons system is not divulged.
