To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to the Answer of 4 July 2018 to Question 158305, how many GPs there were for every 100,000 people in September for each of the last eight years.

The requested information is presented in the following table. Retainers, registrar and locums numbers are not comparable across the timescale requested and have therefore been excluded.

- Prior to 2015 figures are sourced from National Health Application and Infrastructure Services general practitioner (GP) Payments (Exeter) System. From 2015 figures are sourced from the workforce Minimum Dataset and include estimates for missing data.
- GP Headcount per 100,000 population figures calculated based on the Office for National Statistics figures for England population that were available at the time the relevant GP headcount figures were originally published.
