The UK is committed to the promotion of human rights, including freedom of religion and belief. Whilst we have not discussed the specific killings of the Reverends Tentorio, Favali, Carzedda, Paez, and Ventura, we have continued to call on the Government of the Philippines, including at the Human Rights Council, to ensure a safe and enabling environment for human rights defenders. We urge thorough and impartial investigations into all violent deaths.
