To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Sugg on 22 January (HL4521), how many convictions for using a hand-held mobile phone while driving were secured in (1) 2015, (2) 2016, and (3) 2017; and in which police force areas those convictions were secured.

The number of offenders found guilty at all courts of using or causing others to use a mobile phone while driving in England and Wales, by police force area, from 2012 to 2016, can be viewed in the table below.
Court proceedings data for 2017 is planned for publication in May 2018. Case volumes have been falling in lines with motoring offences in general.
