Philippines: Drugs

Question for Foreign and Commonwealth Office

UIN HL3887, tabled on 5 December 2017

To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions they have had with the government of the Philippines about (1) investigations into the death of Kian delos Santos, (2) the circumstances of the deaths of 3,900 "drug personalities", and (3) the deaths of 2,000 others for drug-related crimes.

The Government regularly urges the Philippine government to ensure all deaths associated with the war on illegal drugs are investigated. Most recently, on 4 December, the Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific raised this with Under Secretary Manalo of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, as did officials through the UK-Philippine High Level Talks the same day.
