Chemicals: Health Hazards

Question for Department of Health

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the effect of (1) limonene, and (2) pinene, on people’s health.

The chemicals used in air fresheners such as limonene and pinene are regulated under consumer product safety legislation and as long as the products are used as recommended by the manufacturers and under adequate ventilation conditions, they are unlikely to cause adverse health effects.
