Syria: Internally Displaced People

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the conditions in which displaced persons in Idlib Province, Syria, are living.

There are an estimated 1.3 million people in need of humanitarian assistance in Idlib province, of which more than 900,000 are internally displaced persons. The greatest humanitarian needs are for health, protection, and early recovery and livelihoods services. Food insecurity affects around 710,000 people. There has been a decrease in hostilities following the 30 December ceasefire, although airstrikes continue to pose a significant risk to civilians. Despite ongoing insecurity, humanitarian organisations continue to respond to the needs of the affected population and provide lifesaving support.
