Question for Department for Transport

UIN 68815, tabled on 21 March 2017

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what steps he is taking to ensure that the communications provided by tour companies and airlines to UK nationals in places affected by the new US restrictions on electronic devices on flights is consistent and comprehensive.

The Department for Transport has been working closely with affected airlines and other relevant parties to ensure they are aware of the new security measures being introduced. We continue to liaise with and assist them in ensuring UK nationals are made aware of the impact of the new restrictions, and the actions they need to take. We would expect airlines affected by the US restrictions to provide their passengers with the necessary information needed to ensure compliance.
