Under the Memorandum of Understanding between the UK and the US for the F-35 Lightning Programme, from 2001 to 2006 the UK had 10 posts in the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) for the F-35 Lightning. From 2006 to date the UK has had an additional 20 posts in the F-35 JPO making a total of 30 posts. The tour length of individuals in the JPO is three to four years.
