Question for Department of Health

UIN 60449, tabled on 17 January 2017

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) acts as an independent evaluator for NHS England’s Commissioning through Evaluation (CtE) programme and therefore leads on the production of the final report for each of the funded CtE schemes.

NHS England has agreed that manufacturers known to have a direct business interest in Selective Internal Radiation Therapy will be given an opportunity to comment on the draft report. However, given the potential conflicts of interest, the main responsibility for aiding the review of NICE’s independent report prior to publication will sit with the CtE Steering Group, which includes representation from both patients and national clinical experts.
