The Home Office aim to process 95% of naturalisation applications within six months. In some cases, applications for naturalisation have been outstanding for more than two years. These case are of a more complex nature where further investigation is required, often involving other government departments and external agencies. The extent and length of time taken to complete these investigations varies according to the particular circumstance of each application.
