Social care continues to be a key priority for this Government. It is critical in enabling people with care and support needs to retain their independence and dignity. That is why we have already introduced landmark reforms to ensure people should not have to sell their home in their lifetime to meet the cost of care and we remain committed to introducing a cap on care costs from 2020.
The Government recognises that there needs to be reform in the medium and long term to encourage high standards across the whole country. We will put Social Care on a sustainable footing for the future, giving people the comfort of knowing that they will be cared for in their old age.
