Housing Infrastructure Fund

Question for Department for Communities and Local Government

UIN HL3540, tabled on 24 November 2016

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what they envisage the £2.3 billion Housing Infrastructure Fund being spent on, and over what timescale.

Answered on

7 December 2016

The government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund covers £2.3 billion of new funding up to 2020/21 as part of the government’s National Productivity Investment Fund. Local authorities will be able to bid for funding for infrastructure such as new roads or utility connections (such as water, energy and internet) to unlock housing sites in high demand areas. This will support the delivery of up to 100,000 new homes. Further details on how this Fund will be allocated to local authorities will be set out in due course.
