Hinkley Point C Power Station

Question for Department for Energy and Climate Change

UIN 6397, tabled on 9 July 2015

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, what assessment she has made of the merits of the complaint made by the Austrian government at the European Court of Justice on the development of a new nuclear power station at Hinckley Point; and if she will make a statement.

The Government is confident that the European Commission’s State aid decision on Hinkley Point C is legally robust and has no reason to believe that Austria has submitted a challenge that has any merit or would delay the project.
