To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the case for promoting freedom of speech in universities in the United Kingdom.

The promotion of freedom of speech in universities is a legal obligation under the Education (No2) Act 1986, and is fully supported by the Government, alongside protecting staff and students from being drawn into terrorism or violence and from being exposed to racial or religious hatred.
