The Department has agreed to timetable changes which improve the service provision to Hereford. We are also funding additional seating (standard class) and refurbishments (first class) on High Speed Train services serving Hereford, and contributing to the funding for the new Worcestershire Parkway station. The Class 800 train, specially designed and built by Hitachi for the government’s £5.7 billion InterCity Express Programme (IEP), will revolutionise journeys with more seats on each train, more services, reduced journey times and improved reliability. Work is also ongoing to look at additional track redoubling between Oxford and Worcester on this line.
