Question for Ministry of Justice

UIN 208644, tabled on 9 September 2014

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what steps the Government is taking to encourage more people to make a will.

The Government believes it is important that people consider what they want to happen to their property when they die. I would encourage people of all ages to ensure they have properly considered making a will so that, if the worst happens, their property is passed on in line with their wishes. We are currently considering what steps we can take to raise awareness of the importance of making a will.
